Josep Pons, Stephen Hough, Osmo Vänskä and Lisa Batiashvili have all been named in Presto Classical​’s top 10 Discs of 2016.

For our conductors, Josep Pons’s recording of Berio’s Sinfonia and Mahler’s Frühe Lieder with Matthias Goerne and BBC Symphony Orchestra on Harmonia Mundi features alongside Osmo Vänskä’s final instalment on BIS of his Sibelius Cycle with Minnesota Orchestra, Symphonies Nos. 3, 6 and 7. 

Instrumentalists picked out this year are Stephen Hough and Lisa Batiashvili — Stephen’s recording of Dvořák’s and Schumann’s Piano Concertos with City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Andris Nelson on Hyperion and Lisa’s recently released Deutsche Grammophon album of Tchaikovsky’s and Sibelius’ Violin Concertos with Daniel Barenboim and Staatskapelle Berlin.
