Tabita Berglund makes her Asian and Japanese debut with Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra
31/10/2024
Tabita Berglund makes her long-awaited Asian as well as Japanese debut this Autumn, performing on 3 November with Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and pianist Håvard Gimse at Suntory Hall. The concert opens with Sibelius’ picturesque tone poem Pohjola’s Daughter, which evokes images of the beautiful daughter of the North seated on a rainbow, weaving a cloth of gold. Grieg’s popular and fiery Piano Concerto follows, with Gimse as the soloist, before the concert ends with Ravel’s arrangement of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. This performance will be subsequently broadcast on MXTV in the Greater Tokyo Area.
