Conductor Sakari Oramo leads BBC Symphony Orchestra through a busy month with performances in London, Zaragroza, Valladolid, Oviedo and Murcia. The concerts, beginning on 15 April at the Barbican Centre, continue throughout April and early May with concerts in Spain on 19, 20, 22 and 24 April, and end with one of BBC Symphony Orchestra’s acclaimed ​‘Total Immersion’ programmes on 7 May at the Barbican Centre, focusing on the works of Kaija Saariaho. Throughout the period, Oramo collaborates with a handful of soloists: pianist Boris Giltburg, violinist Inmo Yang, soprano Anu Komsi and cellist Anssi Karttunen, playing an expansive variety of works from the likes of Rachmaninov, John Foulds, Sibelius, Grażyna Bacewicz, Dvořák and more.
