Conductor Sakari Oramo and soprano Anu Komsi give the Finnish premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s riveting Saarikoski Songs, a five-song orchestral song cycle derived from the poetry of Pentti Saarikoski and written for Komsi in 2020. The pair will perform in Helsinki with Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra in an immensely rich programme featuring Ligeti’s Lontano and Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé. Audiences can catch them on 29 and 30 March at the Helsinki Music Centre.
