The week of 28 November sees French pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard tour Spain with frequent collaborators Isabelle Faust, Jean-Guihen Queyras and Jörg Widmann. Aimard – praised by The Guardian as ​“one of the best Messiaen interpreters around” – and his colleagues perform a programme centred around Messaien’s seminal Quatuor pour la fin du temps alongside pieces by Berg, Ravel, Widmann and Carter, with appearances at Barcelona’s Palau de la Música (30 November), the Sociedad Filarmonica de Bilbao (2 December), and Sociedad Filarmónica de Castellón (4 December). 

This tour anticipates Aimard’s return to Barcelona later this year for a solo recital at the Gran Teatre del Liceu on 16 December, featuring piano works by Messiaen, Stockhausen, Feldman, Guinjoan and Ligeti.
