On 3 November, acclaimed pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard appears at Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall to perform Messiaen’s captivating Catalogue d’Oiseaux. Aimard has been praised by The Guardian as​“one of the best Messiaen interpreters around” and was recently awarded the Leonie Sonning Music Prize, Denmark’s most prestigious musical award. His one-night-only recital in Japan comes amidst a busy season of recitals across Europe, having performed at the Philharmonie de Paris, The Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Copenhagen’s DR Koncerthuset, and Philharmonie Essen in the last month alone.
