18/3/2022
Ain Anger returns to the Metropolitan Opera as Prince Gremin in Deborah Warner’s production of Eugene Onegin. Conducted by James Gaffigan, performances open on 25 March.
Ain Anger’s return to the Metropolitan Opera follows his debut as Pimen in Boris Godunov earlier this season, where he “sang with a clarion tone full of smooth legato lines and gorgeous dynamic contrasts” (Opera Wire, September 2021). Upcoming he returns to the Estonian National Opera as Méphistophélès in Faust as well as joining the Orquestra de Valencia as Hunding in Die Walküre and returning to the Wiener Staatsoper as Il Commendatore in Barrie Kosky’s production of Don Giovanni under Philippe Jordan.
