Patricia Kopatchinskaja and Polina Leschenko celebrated the release of their newest disc Deux this week with a six date European recital tour. The duo took to some of Europe’s renowned stages including the Wiener Konzerthaus and Berlin’s Boulezsaal and completed the tour with a performance at London’s prestigious Wigmore Hall.
Deux, released on Alpha Classics this month, explores the music of Poulenc, Dohnanyi, Bartók and Ravel and has already received a 5 star review from The Times. Geoff Brown writes, “The Moldova-born Kopatchinskaja is famous for digging into the strings of her instrument like an old-time prospector desperate for gold. She always finds it too, especially in a repertoire where her Middle European folk roots are a real asset.”
