Eldbjørg Hemsing and Daniel Reith join forces to kick of the New Year at Oslo Konserthus on 10 January with the Staff Band of The Norwegian Armed Forces at the Aftenpostens Nyttårskonsert 2025. The programme features a wide range of repertoire, including Svendsen’s Romance, Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No.1, and Halvorsen’s Norwegian Dances 1&2. 

The Norwegian Defence Staff Band is one of the five bands in the Norwegian Armed Forces and is Norway’s largest professional brass band. The corps is based at Akershus Fortress and was established in 1818 and is 206 years old in 2024, making it Oslo’s oldest musical institution.
