Congratulations to the winners of the 2024 BBC Music Magazine Awards, announced on 18 April at London Kings Place
Winning the 2024BBC Music Magazine Instrumental Award is Scottish guitarist Sean Shibe, for his album Profesión on Pentatone, featuring works by Villa-Lobos, Mangoré and Ginastera.
The Newcomer Award went to pianist George Xiaoyuan Fu for his album Mirrors, featuring a work by Birdsong’s Freya Waley-Cohen on Platoon Music, alongside works by Ravel, Rachmaninov, Timo Andres and Unsuk Chin.
