Stone Fruit, a new work for percussion ensemble by Freya Waley-Cohen, receives its world premiere by Colin Currie Quartet at Wigmore Hall on 27 February. The work is co-commissioned by Wigmore Hall and the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival. Stone Fruit is scored for four percussionists, who play a combination of conventional instruments as well as tuned teacups, saucers and mixing bowls. The programme also features contemporary works by Andy Akiho, Dave Maric, Steve Reich and Amy Beth Kirsten.
