Anne Sofie von Otter joins forces with her long-term musical collaborators Brooklyn Rider in a tour of the US with their celebrated Songs of Love and Death programme. Featuring songs by Franz Schubert and Rufus Wainwright, two contrasting but equally brilliant song writers, the programme centres around Schubert’s masterpiece string quartet Death and the Maiden and can be heard at Universal Preservation Hall, Saratoga Springs on 9 November, at the 92nd Street Y, New York on 10 November, at the Center for the Performing Arts, Carmel on 17 November and at the St Francis Auditorium, Santa Fe on 19 November.
Whilst in North America Anne Sofie also conducts Masterclasses at the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Studio and at the Ryan Opera Center in Chicago. Following on in December she embarks on a European tour presenting a programme of Christmas songs and melodies with Fabian Fredriksson on guitar and Leif Kaner-Lidstrom on piano.
