Cellist Alban Gerhardt, violinist Christian Tetzlaff and percussionist Vivi Vassileva join an ensemble cast of musicians for a benefit concert in memory of the recently-departed pianist and dear friend, Lars Vogt. The chamber concert, organised by Rhapsody in School – an initiative co-founded by Lars dedicated to the promotion of music to young people – will feature an array of pieces spanning both classical and jazz. 

The evening also sees Alban take over Lars’ previous role as Artistic Patron for the organisation. ​“Thank you, Rhapsody, for making me happy and giving me the chance to share my passion for classical music with young people”, he said of Rhapsody in School. Those wishing to attend the benefit concert and tribute can do so on 17 October at Laieszhalle, Hamburg.
