Returning to Bayerische Staatsoper, Ain Anger reprises his acclaimed portrayal of Daland in Der fliegende Holländer directed by Peter Konwitschny and conducted by Lothar Koenigs. Performances run from 13 to 22 October.  

Previously described as ​“magnificent” in the role, Anger has performed Daland for houses including Washington National Opera, Estonian National Opera and Teatro alla Scala and is hailed as one of the great Wagnerian singers of his generation. 

This season, Anger returns to Teatro alla Scala as Il Grande Inquisitore in Don Carlo led by Riccardo Chailly and Fiesco in Simon Boccanegra led by Lorenzo Viotti, before returning to Bayerische Staatsoper as Hermann in Tannhäuser under Sebastian Weigle.
