Eldbjørg Hemsing performs at OPUS KLASSIK concert, in Norway and Iceland

Eldbjørg Hemsing performs at the OPUS KLASSIK concert in Berlin on 7 October, together with pianist Julien Quentin. The programme features music from her latest concept album Arctic, released on Sony Classical. On 8 October, she receives an OPUS KLASSIK award in the category Classic without Limits for Arctic, produced by the British Grammy- and BAFTA-winning sound engineer Jonathan Allen and recorded together with Arctic Philharmonic Orchestra in Bodø, a Norwegian town within the Arctic Circle. The award ceremony takes place at Konzerthaus Berlin, further 2023 OPUS KLASSIK winners include Víkingur Ólafsson, Sean Shibe, Bertrand Chamayou, Xavier de Maistre, Christian Tetzlaff amongst others.
Just two days earlier, on 5 October, Eldbjørg Hemsing performs a selection of works from Arctic with Trondheim Symfoniorkester and Kristian Skalstad at the stunning Nidaros cathedral in Trondheim. To finish off these packed two weeks, she appears at Harpa Hall in Reykjavík together with Iceland Symphony Orchestra and Yan Pascal Tortelier performing Sibelius’ Violin Concerto on 12 October.
