Acclaimed pianists Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Michael Wollny share the stage at the Berlin Philharmonie on 17 May in a programme that pays tribute to Ligeti on the occasion of his centenary, celebrating the Hungarian composer’s fascination with Jazz. Aimard – a personal friend of Ligeti – has long been counted among the most outstanding interpreters of his works, while Michael Wollny is one of Germany’s most internationally successful jazz musicians and a long-time mainstay of the ​‘Jazz at Philharmonic Berlin’ series.
