Acclaimed pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard visits South Korea for the first time since 2016 on 19 and 20 April, appearing at Seoul’s Lotte Concert Hall alongside conductor David Roberston and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. The acclaimed Ligeti specialist performs György Ligeti’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra as part of 2023’s yearlong centenary celebrations of the composer’s birth – an event which, alongside their own personal acquaintance dating back to the 1980s, has inspired much of Aimard’s programming this year from his improvisatory collaboration with celebrated German Jazz pianist Michael Wollny to recurring solo recitals highlighting Ligeti’s Etudes. Aimard’s appearances in Seoul promise to be a highlight of the season!
