An acclaimed master of both the old and the new, acclaimed pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard returns to London’s Queen Elisabeth Hall on 28 April with a unique mix of classical and contemporary repertoire. Linked thematically under the title Fantaisies, his recital programme begins with the intricate Echo Fantasia by Sweelinck and travels through Mozart, Bach, Beethoven and Chopin, with additional highlights in the form of Elliott Carter’s Night Fantasies and Fantasy on Iambic Rhythm by George Benjamin; a varied programme that plays to the strengths of an artist with few discernible limitations.

Pierre-Laurent Aimard will also appear on BBC3’s In Tune on 27 April performing extracts of his concert programme.
