Soprano Anu Komsi gives the UK premiere of Saariaho’s Saarikoski Songs – a five-movement song cycle based on the poetry of Pentti Saarikoski – with Sakari Oramo and BBC Symphony Orchestra. Audiences in London can hear the piece on 7 May, performed at the Barbican Centre as part of the BBC Symphony Orchestra’s all-day Saariaho-focused Total Immersion event.
