Tabita Berglund returns to the Royal Scottish National Orchestra
6/5/2022
After the success of her Scottish debut with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in October 2020, Tabita Berglund returns to the orchestra twice in the coming weeks.
Travelling to three Scottish cities, Berglund conducts Thea Musgrave’s Song of the Enchanter, Dvorák’s Cello Concerto, and Sibelius’s Symphony No 5. The orchestra tours the programme to Dundee on 12 May, Edinburgh on 13 May, and finally Glasgow on 14 May and features soloist Torleif Thedéen on cello. The programme will be available to watch online here from 14 May until 30 June.
Berglund appears with the RSNO once again for the St Magnus Festival and one additional performance. The additional Inverness concert will take place at Eden Court Theatre on 16 June, and the festival concerts will take place at Pickaquoy Centre on 17 June, and St Magnus Cathedral on 18 June. The Inverness and St Magnus Cathedral performances are a string programme with Grieg’s Holberg Suite, Arvo Pärt’s Fratres, Sibelius’s Rakastava, and Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht. For the Pickaquoy Centre performance, soprano Erika Mädi Jones joins Berglund with Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder and a reprise of Sibelius’s Symphony No 5.
