Tabita Berglund gives her opening concerts as Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra’s new Principal Guest Conductor this Spring, joined by two leading soloists and compatriots. On 24 March she leads the orchestra in a 1940s programme featuring Sæverud’s Kjempeviseslåtten and Sinfonia Dolorosa and Miaskovsky’s Cello Concerto with Torleif Thedéen, rounded off with a selection from Tveitt’s orchestrated folk songs Hundrad hardingtonar. Berglund returns to Kilden on 5 May for a contrasting programme of British works: Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis, Britten’s Piano Concerto featuring Leif Ove Andsnes, and Elgar’s Enigma Variations.
