18/10/2019
Nobuyuki Tsujii travels to Germany this month to give two debuts. On 23 October he gives a recital of Beethoven’s Sonata No.23, Appassionata, at the Leibniz Saal Hannover. This is shortly followed by a performance of Beethoven’s Emperor Piano Concerto No.5 with the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover with conductor Andrew Manze at Der Kupperlsaal, which will be recorded for delayed broadcast. These performances form part of the orchestra’s Beethoven festival.
Nobu then heads to Hamburg to perform Liszt’s Piano Concerto No.1 under the baton of Kent Nagano on 27 and 28 October 2019 with Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg at Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. Nobu, Nagano and the Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg then embark on a tour to Japan visiting Tokyo, Niigata, Nagoya, Osaka, Bunkyo, Takasaki and Fukoka, alternating between a program of Liszt’s No. 1 and Beethoven’s No.5 piano concertos.
