Eivind Gullberg Jensen conducts the world premiere of Waiting to open the 2019 Bergen International Festival. 

Created by Norwegian novelist Karl Ove Knausgård and director Calixto Bieito, Waiting is a dramatized concert-staging based on Grieg’s Peer Gynt, written from Solveig’s point of view. Norwegian soprano Mari Eriksmoen sings the role of Solveig, reuniting with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra for performances on 22 and 23 May 2019.

The project will later tour to the Tivoli Festival in Copenhagen, Teatro Arriaga de Bilbao, and the Vilnius Festival.
