Angela Hewitt takes up Harvard University residency
26/4/2019
Angela Hewitt travels to Massachusetts this week as Harvard University’s ‘Christoph Wolff Distinguished Visiting Scholar’ for the 2018/19 season. The two-day residency begins on 30 April with a recital in which she performs Bach’s complete Toccatas – programme No.8 of her ongoing 12-recital Bach Odyssey project. The recital is preceded by a talk in which Hewitt reflects on her career and discusses recent/upcoming projects with Professor of Music Suzannah Clark and Professor Emeritus Christoph Wolff.
A ‘Learning From Performers’ public masterclass on 1 May offers four students the opportunity to perform for Hewitt. Two of the four students perform Bach, complementing the residency’s focus on this composer.
