Angela Hewitt has been announced as a 2018 recipient of Canada’s prestigious Governor General’s Lifetime Achievement Awards for Performing Arts. The Awards – to be conferred at a special ceremony on 1 June in Ottawa – are Canada’s foremost distinction for excellence in the performing arts, spanning the fields of theatre, dance, classical music, radio and television broadcasting, popular music and film. Hewitt is among the six most recent artists to be recognised for their outstanding contribution to Canadian cultural life.
