10/12/2018
We are excited to see several HarrisonParrott and Polyarts artists nominated in the 61st GRAMMY Awards, which were announced on Friday 7 December.
John Adams is nominated twice: his opera Doctor Atomic, performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra and BBC Singers and released on the Nonesuch label, has been shortlisted for Best Opera Recording, while The John Adams Edition – a 4‑CD and 2‑DVD album featuring performances by the Berlin Philharmonic, produced following Adams’ position as Composer in Residence during his 70th birthday year in the 2016/17 season – is nominated in the Best Classical Compendium category.
Anthony Roth Costanzo’s debut album “ARC: Glass/Handel” is nominated for Best Classical Solo Vocal Album. Released on Decca Gold, who also receive their first nomination with this record, this follows a hugely successful launch tour in North America with Les Violons du Roy and Jonathan Cohen.
Quincy Jones also receives his 80th Grammy nomination, this time in the category of Best Music Film. The eponymously-titled Quincy (now streaming on Netflix) traces the legacy of one of the most important voices in modern music and features footage from the Proms performance represented by Polyarts.
The 61st Award ceremony will take place on Sunday 10 February from LA’s STAPLES Center, and be broadcast live from at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT on CBS network.
