Following the smashing success of the European premiere, Alban Gerhardt takes the new Brett Dean Cello Concerto to Cello Biennale. Alban will be playing the Concerto with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra under direction of Klaus Mäkelä. The programme also includes the new works by Mathilde Wantenaar and Wim Henderickx, as well as ​“Omaramor” by Oswaldo Golijov.

In November, Alban will be performing Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto with the WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln in Salzburg and Cologne. Other highlights of the season include Alban’s tour in Asia with recitals in Shanghai and Xiamen, and a concert with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Yu Long.
