Alban Gerhardt is returning to London to perform a solo recital at Kings Place as a part of Master Series, a new program featuring internationally-acclaimed artists. The programme features the most famous Bach’s cello solo suites, Reger’s Suite No.2 in D minor, and Britten’s Suite No. 1. 

Earlier this month Alban performed the world premiere for the Brett Dean’s Cello Concerto written specially for him with Sakari Oramo and Berliner Philharmoniker. At the end of October, Alban is taking Dean’s concerto to Cello Biennale Festival with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra under direction of Klaus Makela. Later this season Alban is going to Asia where he will be performing Barber’s Cello Concerto with Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in Hong Kong, as well as two solo recitals – in Shanghai and Xiamen.
