Jean-Efflam Bavouzet returns to the Tivoli Festival directing the Tivoli Symphony Orchestra from the keyboard in performances of Haydn’s Piano Concerto No. 11 and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 on 28 August.

Earlier this summer Bavouzet launched the new Lofoten International Piano Festival in Norway. As Artistic Director he created and performed a week of chamber and piano recitals.

Haydn Concertos feature on Bavouzet’s latest Chandos CD due to be released in early September, recorded with the Manchester Camerata and conducted by Gábor Takács-Nagy. The CD has been picked as one of Gramophone Editor’s Choice Recordings for September 2014 who commented ​“Readers may wonder whether another recording is warranted. The answer has to be a confident and unhesitating ​‘yes’, given Bavouzet’s highly individual approach and response to these scores”.
