Christian Tetzlaff opens new Wigmore Hall Residency
1/12/2017
Christian Tetzlaff performs on 5 December at Wigmore Hall with pianist and long-term collaborator Lars Vogt, presenting the complete Brahms’ Trios for Violin and Piano, which the duo recorded and released on the label Ondine in 2016. This is the opening concert of a new Wigmore Hall residency for Christian Tetzlaff.
As a previous Artist in Residence in the 2012/13 season, and having since appeared in the Hall on different occasions, he will present four concerts in the current season. Asides the aforementioned duo recital, Tetzlaff will return in February for a chamber music program including Schubert’s Schwanengesang and the String Quintet in C major; then following-up in May with a concert by the Tetzlaff Quartet in an all-Beethoven programme; and ending the residency in June with a concert featuring different composers, again with the Tetzlaff Quartet, and also with Jörg Widmann, who joins the quartet in one of the works.
