Christoph Poppen begins his 2017/18 season with a debut at Seoul Philharmonic in a programme featuring Korngold’s Violin Concerto with Clara Jumi-Kang, and Bruckner’s Symphony No.4 on 8 September at Lotte Concert Hall as part of the Orchestra’s Wagner, Bruckner and Mahler Series.
In the current season, Christoph Poppen continues his close and highly successful collaboration with the Kölner Kammerorchester and in his role as Principal Conductor and as Principal Guest Conductor of Hong Kong Sinfonietta. In October, he will conduct Haydn’s The Seasons in a performance with Kölner Kammerorchester at Kölner Philharmonie, and will conduct two concerts with Hong Kong Sinfonietta featuring Schubert’s unfinished Symphony No.8, Schönberg’s Verklärte Nacht and Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.9 with pianist Sophie Pacini.
Christoph Poppen will return to South Korea by the end of October to conduct the prizewinner’s concert of this year’s ISANGYUN violin competition at Tongyeong Concert Hall.
