Akiko Suwanai embarks next week on a tour of Japan with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Esa-Pekka Salonen. As one of two soloists during the tour, she performs Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto on 17 May at Kumamoto Prefecture Hall and on 20 May at Tokyo Metropolitan Concert Hall.

Later this month, she performs in several chamber music concerts at Seoul Spring Festival and will also give her debut concerts with Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Leonard Slatkin in Detroit and Tokyo.
