Akiko Suwanai performs with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in a concert prior to its tour to Japan and China. Suwanai plays the Korngold Violin Concerto on 9 July at the orchestra’s hall in Detroit, conducted by Leonard Slatkin. She then rejoins them in Tokyo on 19 July as the orchestra takes part in the NIPPON International Music Festival, where she has been the Artistic Director since its inception. 

In between and after these performances, Akiko Suwanai takes part in further chamber music concerts in the Festival as well as masterclasses.
