Santtu-Matias Rouvali has been named Principal Guest Conductor of the Philharmonia Orchestra from the beginning of the 2017/18 season. Under the leadership of Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor Esa-Pekka Salonen, Rouvali is joined by Jakub Hrůša with the same title to complete the Philharmonia’s new artistic team. 

On 23 April Rouvali returns to the Royal Festival Hall to conduct the Philharmonia in a sold-out Sunday matinee, and looking further ahead, he will conduct Ravel’s arrangement of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibitionon 5 October.
