This week, Josep Pons returns to the Gran Teatre del Liceu for Patrice Chéreau’s critically acclaimed production of Strauss’ Elektra. As when it premiered at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence in 2013, the cast includes Waltraud Meier as Klytämnestra and Evelyn Herlitzius as Elektra.

This production follows very successful performances of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro which opened the 2016/17 season at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. Josep Pons’ other 2016/17 highlights include engagements at the Orchestre de Paris, Orquesta Nacional de España and Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne.
