Akiko Suwanai returns to City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and tours Japan with Bamberger Symphoniker

On 26 October Akiko Suwanai performs Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra at Symphony Hall in Birmingham, conducted by Cristian Macelaru. A regular collaborator with the orchestra, Akiko also toured with them to Europe, Taiwan and Japan in the past and recorded Sibelius’ Violin Concerto and Walton’s Violin Concerto with Sakari Oramo.
Right after the concert, Akiko embarks upon a tour of Japan with the Bamberger Symphoniker and Herbert Blomstedt, performing Beethoven’s Violin Concerto. The tour begins on 29 October with a concert at Acros Fukuoka Symphony Hall and Akiko then performs with the orchestra at Suntory Hall in Tokyo (4 November) and at Kyoto Concert Hall (5).
