Pekka Kuusisto debuts at the BBC Proms

This week sees Pekka Kuusisto make his debut at the BBC Proms with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra on 5 August at the Royal Albert Hall. Under the baton of Thomas Dausgaard, he performs Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto.

Kuusisto concludes his 2015/16 season with a European tour with the Minnesota Orchestra and Osmo Vänskä, which includes a return to the UK for his debut appearance at the Edinburgh International Festival, as well as concerts at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and Copenhagen’s Tivoli Concert Hall.

In September, Kuusisto performs Ligeti’s Violin Concerto on tour with Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and Jonathan Nott, and performs Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra under Teodor Currentzis.
