This week Xian Zhang returns to the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra to conduct four performances of Tchaikovsky’s Marche Slave and Symphony No.4, as well as Barber’s Violin Concerto with Jennifer Frautschi as soloist.
The performances take place from 7 — 10 April at New Jersey’s Performing Arts Center, Red Bank’s Count Basie Theater and the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, and mark Zhang’s first appearance with the orchestra since being appointed Music Director — she takes up the position from the start of the 2016/17 season.
