Xian Zhang debuts as Music Director of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra

On 27 October Xian Zhang makes her debut as Music Director of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, USA.
The programme is an all-Tchaikovsky one, featuring the Polonaise from Eugene Onegin, Piano Concerto No.1 with Simon Trpčeski and Symphony No.5, and will be performed a further three times in concert venues across the New Jersey state (28 – 30 October). On 3, 5 and 6 November Xian will conduct the Orchestra in music by Haydn, Beethoven and Richard Strauss.
Xian has enjoyed several successful appearances with the NJSO, including in April of this year, since her first guest appearance back in 2010. Other highlights this season include BBC National Orchestra of Wales (of which she was recently appointed Principal Guest Conductor), further collaborations with Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi as their Music Director, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra at De Doelen, Hawaii Symphony Orchestra and Belgian National Orchestra at Brussels’ Palais des Beaux Arts.
