Pablo Heras-Casado debuts with Akiko Suwanai and The Philadelphia Orchestra
24/3/2016
Pablo Heras-Casado and The Philadelphia Orchestra collaborate for the first time on 31 March, 1 and 2 April at the Verizon Hall, Philadelphia.
In a programme comprised of works by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev and Mendelssohn, Pablo conducts violinist Akiko Suwanai in Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No.2.
Also featured in this concert is Mendelssohn’s Symphony No.3, which Pablo recorded with Freiburger Barockorchester and released to great acclaim on Harmonia Mundi in January this year.
The concerts follow Pablo’s recent success with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s at Carnegie Hall in an all-Spanish programme, also featuring Javier Perianes. Later in April, he returns to the San Francisco Symphony for a two week residency.
