Camilla Tilling, Lawrence Zazzo and Derek Welton join Pablo-Heras Casado and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra this week for performances of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion on 23, 24 and 25 March.
Camilla Tilling is currently enjoying an impressive streak of international concerts having recently performed with the Los Angeles and New York Philharmonic orchestras and the Wiener Symphoniker. She next travels to Australia to perform Berg’s Sieben frühe Lieder with Sydney Symphony Orchestra before returning to Europe for Mahler’s Symphony No.4 with Orchestre National de France.
A great exponent of the work having just performed it with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and Ivor Bolton, Lawrence Zazzo continues to be in demand in Baroque repertoire at the highest level with upcoming highlights including Delio (Veremonda) at Schwetzinger SWR Festspiele, Arsamene (Xerxes) for Oper Frankfurt and Unulfo (Rodelinda) at both Gran Teatre del Liceu and Teatro Real Madrid.
Outside of his ensemble commitments at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Derek Welton continues to make an impact on the global concert stages. Previous performances include his BBC Proms debut singing Bruckner’s Mass No.3, Handel’s Messiah with the Hallé, and Beethoven’s Symphony No.9 with Singapore Symphony Orchestra last season. Continuing to broaden his repertoire, upcoming concert engagements include Janáček’s Glagolitic Mass, Mozart’s Requiem, and Haydn’s Creation.
