1/5/2015
Golda Schultz and Derek Welton star as Sibilla and Regolo respectively in the world premiere of Beat Furrer’s la bianca notte at Staatsoper Hamburg. Conducted by its Artistic Director Simone Young and directed by Ramin Gray, performances run from 10 — 31 May.
Making her debut in Hamburg in the creation of the opera’s lead female role, Golda subsequently rounds off a busy season with her debut at Salzburger Festspiele as Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier) and at Risør Festival in Norway, where she will present a number of solo recital programmes.
Having made his role debut as Escamillo (Carmen) under Axel Kober at Hamburg and his company debut at Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden as Graf Dominik (Arabella) under Christian Thielemann earlier this season, Derek will next travel to London for his BBC Proms debut this summer performing Bruckner’s Mass No.3 with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra under Juanjo Mena.
