This week mezzo-soprano Maren Favela returns to Oper Frankfurt to sing Giannetta in a new production of Valentino Fioravanti’s Le Cantatrici Villane. Conducted by Karsten Januschke, performances continue until 7 February.

Previously a member of Frankfurt’s Opera Studio, Maren Favela has appeared there as a guest artist as, Echo (Ariadne auf Naxos), and as both Tibrino and Amore in Cesti’s L’Orontea, under Ivor Bolton. Elsewhere this season, Maren makes her debut at Opéra national de Paris in Schoenberg’s Moses und Aron under Philippe Jordan, and performs the role of Mercédes in concert performances of Carmen with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra under Lan Shui.
