Shakespeare’s Globe returns to China
28/1/2016
This September Shakespeare’s Globe returns to China to tour its critically acclaimed The Merchant of Venice, in celebration of 400 years since the playwright’s death in 1616.
The tour is part of the British Council and the GREAT Britain campaign, ‘Shakespeare Lives in China’, a major programme for 2016 which celebrates Shakespeare’s works and influence on culture, education and society.
HarrisonParrott is delighted to work with Shakespeare’s Globe to manage performances in Beijing, Shanghai and Ghangzhou. More cities to be confirmed soon.
Shakespeare’s Globe previously worked with HarrisonParrott for its China debut in autumn 2014, when they toured A Midsummer Night’s Dream to celebrate Shakespeare’s 450th anniversary. They worked together in China again in summer 2015 as part of the ‘Globe-to-Globe’ project when they performed Hamlet in every country.
