Catherine Naglestad brings her acclaimed portrayal of Salome to Deutsche Oper Berlin

Renowned American soprano Catherine Naglestad performs at Deutsche Oper Berlin this week in the title role of Claus Guth’s hotly anticipated new production of Richard Strauss’ Salome. Conducted by Alain Altinoglu, initial performances run from 24 January to 6 February, before a short reprise in April.
Enjoying a varied repertoire, the rest of Catherine Naglestad’s season includes Senta (Der fliegende Holländer) at Bayerische Staatsoper, Tosca at Opernhaus Zürich and Cassandre (Les Troyens) at Staatsoper Hamburg. Naglestad also adds two new concert pieces to her repertoire this season, both with Kent Nagano: Britten’s War Requiem with Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and Schoenberg’s Gurreliederwith Göteborgs Symfoniker.
