Sakari Oramo conducts the New York Philharmonic in three subscription concerts from 26 to 28 February at Avery Fisher Hall.
Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of Sibelius’ birth, the programme features the composer’s The Oceanides and his Violin Concerto (with Frank Peter Zimmermann), and also includes Brahms’ Symphony No.2. Oramo recently performed The Oceanides at the Barbican Centre in London with the BBC Symphony Orchestra — a concert which received critical acclaim.
