On 23 August Sakari Oramo returns to the BBC Proms for the fourth time this year to conduct the BBC Symphony Orchestra in a concert of Russian Fairy Tales.

For the concert, Oramo is joined by Anu Komsi to perform two UK premieres: Szymanowski’s Songs of a Fairy Princess, which includes three additional songs orchestrated by Oramo himself, and Jukka Tiensuu’s Voice Verser. The programme for the evening also includes Ravel’s Ma mère l’oye and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade.

Previously at this year’s Proms, Oramo performed as a violinist alongside Janine Jansen on 11 August and he returns to the Royal Albert Hall one more time to conduct the Last Night on 13 September.
