Xian Zhang returns to the Los Angeles Philharmonic

This week Xian Zhang returns to the Los Angeles Philharmonic, celebrating the Chinese New Year with three concerts on 19, 20 and 21 February.
In a first for the orchestra, they celebrate the occasion with an eclectic blend of music from east and west and are joined by prominent Chinese artists, Jian Wang, Ning Feng and Haochen Zhang.
The programme features the West Coast premiere of Tan Dun’s The Triple Resurrection — the fourth part of his Martial Arts Cycle which is based on his famous film scores and unite the themes and musical characters (violin, cello, and piano) from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hero and The Banquet.
This spring Xian has a number of international engagements, in North America she returns to the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and makes her debut at the National Arts Centre Ottawa, and in Asia she performs in Taiwan, Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
