28/11/2014
Angela Hewitt is soloist with the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Messiaen’s Turangalîla Symphony on 4 December. This concert, at Suntory Hall, is conducted by Sylvain Cambreling and is filmed by NHK for future television broadcast.
Later this season, the YNSO will visit Europe – their first tour in 12 years – during which Hewitt will again perform Turangalîla with them. Performances take place at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht on 7 March, and at Brussels’ Palais des Beaux-Arts on 8 March.
In June this year Ondine released Hewitt’s recording of the TurangalîlaSymphony with Hannu Lintu and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, to much acclaim.
