On 20 and 21 September Alina Pogostkina returns to Bamberger Symphoniker to perform Jörg Widmann​’s Violin Concerto in their season opening concerts conducted by Jonathan Nott. The concert will be broadcast on BR Klassik on 15 October.

Alina has successfully worked with the orchestra on a number of occasions, most recently performing Peteris Vasks’ Distant Light.

Jörg Widmann’s one-movement Violin Concerto stands out with its unique form. Premiered in 2007 by Christian Tetzlaff, it is regularly performed in concerts throughout Europe and the United States.
